New York City Artist Scott Redden

Mecox is pleased to present a selection of exceptional oil paintings by New York City artist Scott Redden. From the "Farmland Paintings" series, beautiful blues, greens and yellows make up Redden's pastoral Americana scenes--which have been lauded by critics nationwide.

The New Yorker describes his work as "landscapes with a rare combination of qualities: terse, mysterious, comical." And Stacy Smith of the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum says "...Redden's work engenders natural associations with folk painting. But while it shares visual qualities with naive art, it is in fact quite sophisticated." Pulling inspiration from photographs, memories and his imagination, Redden begins his pieces with basic sketches and "...from the outset, his pictorial imagery straddles truth and invention."

Combining perfect amounts of nostalgia along with progressive technique, Redden's paintings are sure to please any lover of art. Redden's work is currently available to view at Mecox NYC, please stop in or contact us for more information.
