Joani White Featured in Mecox Dallas

During her years of travel throughout the world as a jewelry designer, Joani White began making photographs as an alternative outlet for her creative talents. Her goal is to capture moments in time that evoke feelings of sheer beauty in magnificent settings. Her ability to capture a split second wherein light and space play together in perfect harmony is showcased in all of her photographs, whether it's a Dandelion or The Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, NM. Her portfolio of work to date includes stunning photographs from locations Indonesia, Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and much of the United States.

Sea-esta Time?

As temperatures soar in New York City, heat rising up from the asphalt and the summer air getting tighter around us, there can't be anyone who doesn't long for the sea. Whether you imagine yourself side-stroking lazily out into the ocean, or glimpsing the water from the cool shade of an umbrella, there's no doubt that that image acts as a sort of balm. Imagine how soothing it would be to quit the city altogether and plant yourself on the beach for the next 10 weeks? But if that can't be arranged, try conjuring those images with some of our sea-themed accessories:

A pair of refreshing-looking Antique Swordfish Bookends for a bookshelf?

Or a Seahorse Pitcher from which to drink a glass of ice water?

Or a lovely Driftwood Angelfish?

Or even this Cool, Blue Ceramic Urn?

We have these Faux Shagreen Boxes with Shell Handles.

Or for those dreaming of casting their lines over the side of a boat: Vintage Wood Fish on Stand.

No matter what, these accessories will help create the mood of fresh air and the sea!

Exclusive Jack Rogers Trunk Show at Mecox Los Angeles

Mecox Los Angeles is hosting a fabulous and exclusive Trunk Show featuring the timeless styles of the legendary Jack Rogers line on Saturday, July 10 from 10-5pm.

For more than 50 years, Jack Rogers has cultivated a legacy that embodies an effortless, chic, All-American style. Since their inception in 1960, the Jack Rogers brand has been committed to making a broad range of high-quality, well-designed products, and they are proud that their wearable and affordable styles have earned them a devoted clientele that spans generations.

In 1961 in Palm Beach, Jack Rogers' most well known sandal –the Navajo – stepped into its rightful place as an American classic on the feet of a famed fashion icon and swiftly became known as "the First Lady sandal," which, naturally, became the footwear of choice for resort-chic dressing. Available in hundreds of color combinations, the handcrafted "Jacks" adorn sun-kissed toes in resort towns such as Palm Beach, Newport and the Hamptons, and have been featured in the style pages of newspapers and magazines around the world. Today, Jack Rogers offers a wide range of high-quality, resort fashion for all aspects of her wardrobe. Jack Rogers has expanded into a full lifestyle line incorporating their iconic design elements into shoes, dresses, handbags, boots, and more, culminating with the debut of the brand's ready to wear line in Spring 2010.

Won't you join us for this fun, fashionable event and try on the sandal that Jackie made famous?

Faux Gilded Bamboo

Want to bring a bit of Old World glamour and style to your home? Think Faux! Gilded Faux Bamboo, to be exact. A design staple since the mid-18th century, Gilded Faux Bamboo brings a touch of the mysterious, exotic Far East to furniture and mirrors (and a host of other objects).

As travel and commerce to the Far East opened up in the early 18th Century, posh European homes began to utilize the then-exotic Bamboo motif in a host of items-beds, dressers, chairs, desks, mirrors and the like, using carved woods such as pine and maple. Gilding the replicated bamboo quickly followed, and the design aesthetic of Gilded Bamboo has remained a classic staple of classic decorators to this day.

Dorothy Draper, Mark Hampton, and Tony Duquette certainly knew the value of a pop of gilded gold, and the tradition continues with contemporary decorators, such as Michael S. Smith, Suzanne Tucker, and Joe Nye, who often put a select piece of Gilded Faux bamboo into a room. Mecox offers a wide assortment of Gilded Faux Bamboo pieces from vintage chairs and vintage coffee tables to mirrors to side tables, and any of our eight Mecox emporiums will be more than happy to help you with your selection.

Americana, the Beautiful

Whether it's the high blue skies, the first barbecue, the sweet taste of corn, or the smell of freshly mowed grass, there is always something nostalgic about the onset of summer. Which is why, when you think about accessories for your summer homes, you ought to consider a touch of Americana.

Imagine your bookshelves with decorative touches that reference the land you live in, like these Vintage Faux Bois Eagle Head Bookends. or a Folk Art Cast Iron Log Cabin Bank.

It might also be nice to add a welcoming decorative touch to an entryway console, such as this Carousel Horse.

Any of course there is nothing which at one and the same time so iconic, and so simple as a lovely old American flag. Imagine some vintage stars and stripes hanging in a stairwell or in a family room:

Vintage American Flag with 48 Stars

Last, but not least, do not forget your gardens. They, too, can be accessorized. And is there anything more American than "man's best friend"?
