This is one fabulous shop! There is so much to see here. The space is beautifully laid out and it is evident that there has been a lot of thought that went into the merchandising. It is easy to envision how these pieces would look in your room, due to the clever vignettes. What's so good here is the fact that there is a fresh approach to design, mixing important pieces with excellent art and accessories. It's also not the same old stuff that we have been seeing for years.

Mecox Gardens is a real treasure. There are eight brick and mortar stores throughout the United States as well as a large online catalog of their merchandise. I chose the images to illustrate some essential elements I think every room should have.

Mecox Gardens: A Stylish Addition to Houston Mecox Gardens recently opened its eighth location in Houston. Located in Highland Village, the 8,000 square foot emporium of chic wares is a welcome addition to our city. The store carries many styles of furnishings, art, accessories, lighting, and antiques. There is literally something for everyone's aesthetic. I love Mecox because it is evident that every single piece in the store is thoughtfully selected. I would purchase every last item for my home at Mecox!

If there were ever such a thing as a sportsman’s wreath, this might just be it. It is made from bright white resin casts of actual antlers, and the rustic (and pleasantly offbeat) design is a welcome surprise in the conventional world of holiday decor. mecoxgardens.com

Southhampton-based Mecox Gardens has spread its kingdom of home design stores to seven locations, including Manhattan's sleek Upper East Side, toney Southampton, and their latest upscale Houston store. These stores do an artful job of combining interior and exterior design, blending in reeditions of their favorite furnishings with one-of-a-kind antiques and accessories that their skilled-eyed buyers pounce on with aplomb. These stores are, in my humble opinion, your best bets for getting indoor and outdoor furniture for your home.

I stopped in at Mecox Gardens the other day, and I was floored by their front window. Ken and Brad help run the joint and they're visual display deities. Having said that, the dynamic duo is working with unbelievable raw material, including Knoll chairs originally designed for IBM, a set of vintage French dining chairs and an amazing pair of shaker-inspired dining chairs.

If I won the lottery and could decorate my house with anything I wanted, Mecox Gardens would be one of my first stops. The virtual palace for antique goods always provides me with tons of inspiration, and can cause spontaneous drooling. I was on their site the other day when I cam across this.

f you haven't been to Mecox, go for their library alone - they have a fantastic selection. Some places dabble in them, but Mecox takes them seriously. The staff is very knowledgeable and they made a number of recommendations (that frankly, made me want them all and left me all the more confused).
